Isn't what it used to be. Barely any foods, no blooming onion. Very few rides. Very disappointing with a ridiculously large price tag. Fun town is the same cost with better attractions.

all the animals are amazing but the fair definitely wasn't worth it,very few rides. Very few vendors this will probably be my last year at the Bangor state fair.

We actually had a really nice time at the Bangor State Fair. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the rides and the fair itself, so I hate that the night ended this way. I accidentally lost my phone, which was completely my own fault. However, we were able to track it using my wife’s phone and my Bluetooth connection. The signal led us directly to carnival/midway workers who had my phone. When I asked about it, they denied having it. I knew I was in the right place because my Bluetooth was reconnecting and I could make the phone play music when I got close. After continuing to press them and saying I was going to involve the police, my phone was finally returned. We reported the situation to fair staff and spoke with police afterward. Thankfully I got my phone back, but losing a phone is one thing — having people deny possessing it while you are actively tracking it to them is another. I enjoyed the fair overall, but this seriously damaged the experience. I hope Bangor State Fair management follows up with the company operating the midway and takes complaints like this seriously.

3 days only 2021 Hours Fri 12pm-11pm (no entry after 9pm) Sat 12pm-11pm (no entry after 9pm) Sun 12pm--8pm This year was The return of the Bangor State Fair normally the state's largest Fair. Last year the fair was canceled due to covid this year they held a toned down version of the fair which in my estimation is about half the size that it normally is. There are no animal attractions this year and two of the rides that they did have were not open on Friday. However there is a lot of pent-up demand and probably covid fatigue so the fair was extremely busy. At 8:30 p.m. on Friday there were very long lines to get in for the entry fee long lines for tickets and extremely long lines for every ride and every single vendor there was only one vendor of each type which caused severe bottlenecks for some vendors such as the doughboys fried dough vendor. The doughboy vendor for myself was a 33 minute wait on the short side. Also while the entry fee is a separate kiosk and does take debit cards the ticket kiosk which you need to for the rides or bracelet was cash only and all vendors are cash only there is no ATM on site. Great visit for my first fair after moving to Maine. Rides were fun but wish they had a bit more. Dog show was cute.
